PAY RANGE $25-$30 (D.O.E.)
The Library Specialist is a public service position that supports all library Divisions and may report to the Head of Information, Technology, & Circulation, Events & Publicity, or Collections and Cataloging.
TYPICAL DUTIES: • Provides excellent customer engagement at various service desks that exceeds expectations in conformance with the Library’s Mission, Vision, and Values and the values of Park City Municipal Corporation; this includes circulating library materials, issuing library cards, enforcing policies and procedures, etc. • Offers in-depth and accurate reference, research, reader’s advisory, and referral services. • Delivers skilled technical support to the public, including helping customers with computer questions. • Assists with sharing and creating information and publicity regarding library amenities and events. • Plans and presents innovative and engaging events for the community, filling in on all library events as needed. • Supports collection management. • Coordinates projects and ensures deadlines are met. • Other library duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge and experience with computers and technology. • Strong customer engagement skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Associate’s degree in a related field or 1-2 years of experience working in a library or related field. • Knowledge of and experience in library operations, automated systems, and resources. • Knowledge and experience in library events or publicity. • Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
WORKING CONDITIONS: • The employee must occasionally lift more than 30 pounds and push/pull a cart with up to 100 pounds of books, supplies, and equipment. • Work is performed primarily indoors in a public library and office setting. • Periodic exposure to stressful situations. • May require small amounts of travel to and from meetings, training, and conferences. • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to low. • Non-traditional working hours, which may include evenings and weekends
