JOB SUMMARY:
The Park City Municipal Corporation Transportation Planning Department is hiring a Summer Multimodal Transportation Fellow. The Department is responsible for providing policy direction, defining local transportation goals, and prioritizing investments to provide sustainable mobility options.
Under the general direction of the Active Transportation Planner, the Fellow will assist staff with implementing and managing active transportation programs, data collection, and community outreach. This position is part-time seasonal and will extend from May through August 2025, working up to 35 hours per week.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates and supports the implementation of Park City’s Traffic Calming Pilot Projects. This includes tasks such as finalizing the street design for permanent and temporary traffic calming features in accordance with MUTCD and AASHTO guidelines, in-field implementation, collaboration with the Neighborhoods First Committee and public stakeholders, and leading the gathering and evaluation of data.
- Manage recommendations for the City’s bike parking locations and policy. This includes analyzing gaps in the bike parking system, supporting the Request-a-Rack program, and creating renderings or policy updates based on APBP guidelines for bike parking.
- Support the transportation planning staff with active transportation data, including compilation and analysis of existing data sources, in-field data counts, and making recommendations for the City’s data collection and data storage methods.
- Assist in finalizing and implementing Park City’s design guidelines for crosswalks. The primary responsibility of this task will be to support Transportation Planning staff with finalizing a design guideline document based on MUTCD, AASHTO, NACTO, etc. standards that align with Park City’s approaches for crosswalk treatments.
- Contribute to marketing and outreach strategies for each of the Fellowship responsibilities, including the creation of marketing plans, public engagement, communication materials, and inter-departmental collaboration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate (Class of 2025) in a transportation-related field, such as transportation planning, transportation engineering, urban planning, or civil engineering
- 18 years of age by the start of employment
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends for public involvement or street implementation events

- Strong data collection and analysis skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision
- Passion for and knowledge of transportation planning and engineering design standards
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $28/hr. up to 35 hours per week
- Highly Subsidized Housing: As part of the fellowship's offered benefit, the fellow will have the opportunity to live in Park City in highly subsidized city housing. This includes a furnished private single room with shared common areas, similar to dormitory-style accommodations. The fellow will only be responsible for paying tax on the fair market value of the housing unit.
- Commuting Benefits: The provided housing is located along the 10X transit line, a frequent and free public transit service. Park City and the greater Snyderville Basin are serviced by free public transit. Additionally, the Fellow will have access to City e-bikes, contingent upon completing the City's helmet and safety training and adhering to the City’s e-bike use policy.
